Unclaimed Funds Locator is a collaborative effort to consolidate Bankruptcy Court unclaimed funds data. JFinSys (The Judiciary Financial System) developed by Virginia Eastern Bankruptcy Court, is currently being deployed to participating courts across the country. Individual Court units have the ability to opt-in to this federated search.

Enhanced Search Capabilities

• Universal search functionality, which allows users to search for unclaimed funds owed to a specific individual, business, and/or governmental unit from one of the following:
  • A specific court district
  • Multiple court districts
  • Across all bankruptcy courts within the entire judiciary
• Improved search functionality, which allows users to initiate a search based on the entry of a name into the Creditor Name and/or Debtor Name fields. NOTE: The first and last name fields were combined into Full Text Indexes to improve name searches. To initiate any search, please enter a value in either the Debtor Name field or the Creditor Name field.
• Users must also complete the challenge-response authentication (CAPTCHA) to initiate a search.
